About the Editor

Stan lives in a small mountain community called Sherando, Virginia. He got married in 1989 to a wonderful lady who was raised in the area. They have two teenage kids, one boy and one girl. They homeschooled both children for seven years; now they are both attending the local public high school. They have one dog, a rat terrier named Toby Jax.

He works from home, running his primary business which is a vacation rental business in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The business name is called Cabin Creekwood, and consists of nine fully-furnished mountain cabins that they rent out nightly or weekly. These cabins are near the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Skyline Drive, and the Shenandoah National Park. He loves helping people to have a rewarding getaway to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“What makes the job so rewarding to me is because people are nearly always relaxed and in a good mood when they are on vacation.” Stan has been running the vacation rental business for 14 years, and consequently has built friendships with people from all over the globe.

The business involves furnishing the cabins, as well as providing outdoor spaces for sitting, relaxing, and enjoying nature.  The desire to provide quality seating has given Stan plenty of reason to research and learn all he can about benches.

He likes the Internet because it is so easy to find information on anything. And he believes the quality of information has improved over the years, making it the first place he goes when looking for something.

He is also involved in his church as financial administrator, chief sound engineer, vocalist, elder, and small group leader. In addition, he loves the outdoors–hiking, fishing, and hunting.
